Overview

The KL1500-4A is built for mortise-and-tenon work on solid wood tables and chairs. Two work stations machine tenons and mortises as one operation, so a part is finished in a single clamping instead of hand mortising - giving uniform joints and tighter assembly.

Spindles and Clamping

Two sets of 4 x 3.7 kW air-cooled spindles run with dust hoods that extract chips at the cutting point. X and Y travel are 1500 mm each with 200 mm on Z, taking stock up to 80 mm wide at a working speed of up to 12 m/min. Fixed clamping units and pneumatic work-length adjustment make product changeovers quick.

Bed and Drives

The welded steel bed carries the beam and bracket as one piece, stress-relieved before machining. Guide and rack mounting faces are machined twice on a machining centre to within 0.02 mm straightness and flatness over full length, and dial-in installation holds parallelism within 0.02 mm. 850 W AC servo drives, 16 kW total machine power, 380V 50/60HZ supply.
